This week’s entry to Mix of the Week comes from rising garage talent RKM333, who recently made his Forbidden Fruit debut on RTÉ 2FM’s Rising Stage.

Garage has once again found itself in the spotlight, fuelled by a post-pandemic resurgence led by artists like Interplanetary Criminal and Sammy Virji, arguably the poster boys of a contemporary UK garage sound that blends nostalgia with a glossy, modern edge. With renewed attention on a scene that once thrived almost exclusively in UK basement clubs, a new wave of producers has emerged, reworking the classic garage blueprint in inventive ways. Ireland has firmly joined that movement, and few artists have embodied its momentum in 2026 quite like RKM333.

His high-octane, cheeky, bass-rattling take on speed garage has been turning heads across Dublin and beyond, with releases landing on labels such as DALF Records, Native Television, Psyked, and Outhouse Sound. He’s also become something of a go-to name in Ireland’s emerging garage circuit, building a busy schedule of shows across the capital and steadily expanding his reach further afield.

His live recording from a sold-out Forbidden Fruit set captures him at full throttle, unrestrained, confident, and relentless. It’s packed with punchy, skippy drums, weighty basslines, lush house stabs, and euphoric pads, constantly building and breaking into explosive drops. The result is a set that feels like an artist fully in command of his sound, and a clear introduction to the energy and potential driving RKM333 forward.
