The coveted closing set at The Anachronica Stage, also known as The Rave In The Woods at Electric Picnic is one of the most sought after set’s a DJ can play and Yasmin Gardezi graced the elevated booth with sheer power and tenacity on the opening night of the weekend.
Yamin’s rise through the ranks has been well documented within the Irish techno scene, and the Cork native has become a festival favourite to ravers across the country within the last three years. Coming off the back of big performances at Emerge Festival, Sea Sessions, Life Festival, Jika Jika Festival and a flurry of high profile club show’s, Yasmin arrived to Electric Picnic locked and loaded with a flurry of peak-time techno weapons.
Yasmin’s live recording from her set at Electric Picnic see’s the young DJ rinse through hard techno bombs over the course of sixty minutes. Yasmin open’s the set with with an eery ambient track echoing her name as ringing child’s hymns crawl through the sound-system. Yasmin quickly moves on from her chilling intro into slamming territories as kick drums convulsively fly through the woods.
