Foggy Notions returns to The National Concert Hall for the second iteration of Haunted Dancehall. This year sees 40 experimental, electronic and contemporary classical artists with appearances from Lee Gamble, New Jackson, Eliza, darkmavis, Mercorn and more.
Last year’s debut edition of Haunted Dancehall at The National Concert was a formative moment for electronic music in Ireland. The 3-day celebration of left-field music presented by Foggy Notions returns on November 3, 4 and 5.
The opening night of Haunted Dancehall starts on 3 November with a main auditorium concert by Ireland’s leading new music group Crash Ensemble, who will present performances of Philip Glass’ Glassworks and Terry Riley’s In C. On Saturday 4 Tirzah headlines with a show that features a selection of new tracks from her third studio album trip9love…???. The closing night on Sunday 5 see’s the main auditorium commence with Colombian experimental musician Lucrecia Dalt making her Irish debut and warming up the audience for acclaimed American Stockholm-based composer Kali Malone, accompanied by Stephen O’Malley.
Haunted Dancehall is a project supporting the work of the Night-Time Economy Taskforce and sees the National Cultural Institutions collaborate with more diverse partners and open up the spaces to new artists. Haunted Dancehall is supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to drive and encourage diversity in the Night-Time Economy.
