Research have announced the return of the donk maestro, Eugene McCauley. The enigmatic DJ and producer arrives at Cellar for his triumphant Dublin homecoming on the 25th of November.

Following up a standout return to the festival circuit at Fuinneamh in September, Eugene McCauley now sets his eyes on Dublin’s favourite basement haunt, Cellar, as the donk maestro headlines the fabled venue for Research on the 25th of November.

Known as an Irish dance music phenomenon, Eugene McCauley in 2018 began to post donk edits of well-known club classics and Irish pop culture. The donk maestro soon gained cult status across Ireland and became a household name on the Emerald Isle.

Eugene’s enigmatic and masked appearance has made the DJ and producer a mystery to most. Frequent witch hunts began online as members of the dance music community pondered the question on everyone’s lip – who is Eugene McCauley?

The online sensation soon began to play shows, with his debut appearance coming in September 2019 at Fuinneamh Festival. The legendary set still echoes through the festival grounds and acted as the launch of Eugene McCauley’s DJ career. Fast forward to 2023, and Eugene McCauley returned to Fuinneamh, playing a standout sunrise set, and reclaiming his throne as the donk maestro at Bellurgan Park.
