DJ RIPT AKA James Ackerman was introduced to the club scene as a youth. Having studied alongside some of Dublin’s finest mentors in electronic music, in Bray Institute Of Further Education, James has been subject to quality dance music for a long time.
Born in the UK and raised in the outskirts of Dublin City, DJ RIPT has played in index main room on support duties for DJ Seinfeld, wigwam basement in collaboration with Seclusion X Constellation and Berlin Bar W/ embedded + more.
The Dublin based selector recently organised his first ever multi disciplinary artist event consisting of a studio space which was then designed through DIY materials to create a club setting in Dublin City for a new movement called DLRM.
“The mix is an hour long featuring dance floor doofers throughout with an occasional tempo chase. I tried to keep a steady flow and to present a thoroughly thought out selection of four four rhythms. Definitely a mix I enjoyed doing and is of a very different contrast to my last mix release on DDR.“
The mix is a smooth techno expedition. DJ Ript saddles you up and makes sure to provide you with an effortless journey through his record stacks. Trippy landscapes, Detroit techno, sky-scraping tension fuelled tools, funky basslines & prime classic’s, make for an excellent ride.
