North Dublin producer Aksent releases his debut album ‘Alter Ego’ today and we absolutely love it. The whopping 7 track debut is packed with dreamy soundscapes, wide pads, meaty baselines, crunchy breaks and just overall fantasy like UK infused electronic music.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Four Tet and Burial, the Dublin native puts his own spin on music that struggles to find a genre other than ‘leftfield’ or ‘breaks’ which can be a bit enigmatic at times. The debut drifts its way through house, future garage, break beats and more. The exhilarating EP is as deep and sentimental as it is catchy and cheerful.

Aksent went at the project with an all hands on deck approach. The young producer mixed and mastered the album as well as putting together all the visuals. Alter Ego is accompanied by music videos for tracks ‘Flow’ and ‘Gone’.

I got some help from the amazing Stefano Rinaldo an Italian FPV drone pilot and mixed it in with my graphics for my debut single ‘Flow’. My second music video for the track “Gone” was recorded all around Dublin. It’s mainly shot around North Dublin; around where I live and places I have been passed by over the last few years.”

The videos were shot around North Dublin that were seminal to Aksent’s upbringing and life. “The video is a collage of my perspective of Dublin.”

Alter Ego is available to buy and stream of all major streaming websites. Keep up to date with all things Aksent here.
