Dublin based producer and visual artists Aksent is back with another single soaked in UK flavour, as the young producer dabbles in grimey territories and rave nostalgia. The single is accompanied by a smoky music video shot in Dublin City.

Up and coming North Dublin producer Aksent caught our eye at the tail end of last year as he released his debut album Alter Ego, which was heavily focussed on enigmatic drum patterns, dreamy soundscapes and chugging bass. Aksent now arrives to our sound systems and screens, with a club focussed single, but the release remains heavily inspired by UK club music.

Aksent channels 90’s rave energy through swift breakbeats, catchy baselines and familiar dream like samples, but the youngster combines this energy with a modern twist as a grime-esque sample runs through the single. The vocal gives an undeniably feverish energy to the single, and channels the mantra of being an independent artist, which Aksent very much embodies in his D.I.Y. approach to releasing music.

While the track nod’s to 90’s rave and the Summer of Love in the UK, it seem’s highly influenced by modern trail blazers, such as Kettama, Mall Grab, Prospa and more. That stabby groove is certainly hot right now, and it works a treat on the floor.

We can see this rocking a lot of dance floors this summer.
