London-based DJ and producer Effy returns to share her first single of the year “Not Yours”. This high-octane, blistering acid driven techno track speaks volumes on Effy’s burgeoning talent, solidifying a sonic shift and penchant for grittier club productions.

Effy burst onto the scene in 2019 for a Mixmag Live party alongside Helena Hauff, FAUZIA and Jaguar. Her debut single “Fluffy Clouds” landed just before the pandemic, Effy has continued to make her ascent having been hotly tipped by many as, one to watch. Despite it all, she churned out a further five solo singles, a track with Mall Grab and three remixes for Scuba, Earth Boys and Franc Moody. Effy was named one of Pete Tong’s Future Stars of 2021, as well as holding down a Residency at The Warehouse Project.

Effy is keen to use her space in dance music to celebrate women artists, coming up this year she will launch her own club night and community focused party of the same moniker Not Yours – named for the fact that women do not belong to anyone. Alongside a host of surprise guests, fans can also expect to see her close friends and fellow DJ pals.

Her new single which dropped on all platforms today is a gnarly acid soaked club tool. Packed with pounding bass drums, crunchy breaks and piercing acid, the track is a in your face club banger. Don’t sleep on this.

“I made “Not Yours” as a nod to not being owned or controlled by any one person, society, stereotype or group of people. It was during a period of finding myself and gaining new confidence after dealing with some of life’s challenges, after the world had reopened. This also for me was a celebration of clubs opening and I tried to channel the kind of music I had particularly enjoyed hearing out and playing at recent shows.” – Effy.
