Today we premiere new music from Croatian techno label After Us who welcome DBFB to the fold alongside remixes from Philip Petite and Orion. ‘Small Stone’ is a sun-kissed piece of dub techno as DBFB entrances listeners through subtle modulations and gliding atmospheres.

It’s a Croatian affair as DBFB joins After Us a stellar EP accompanied by remixes from Philip Petite and Orion. The four-track EP showcases two original grooves alongside two reworks from staples in the techno scene.

The Stones EP sees the Croatian pair showcase their take on classic techno sounds, but add some modern power and hypnotica to the release. They present four tracks of groovy Dpetroit-influenced techno with avant-garde funk turns.

We premiere ‘Small Stone’ – a perfect introduction to the young Croatian duo, as they put their spin on the Detroit sound, although through a new lens. The track like many Detroits classics is simplistic excellence and once the synth grabs you, it’s game over. There’s no need to overcomplicate things when referencing these raw vintage styles, as most of the funk comes direct from the synth lines, from here it’s about layering elements to create a harmonious groove that is both simplistic and funk-laced.
