London-based producer and Steppers Club founder Zefer releases his first LP with his ‘Before It Gets Too Late’ mixtape. The project boasts an all-star roster of 12 high-profile features, with Zefer recruiting a variety of rappers and soul singers (with 800,000 combined Spotify monthly users).
Zefer arrives on the record fresh off the back of his hugely successful Shawty / No Future release on NewYork’s Nervous Records, with the A-Side track receiving extensive support on BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra (Jeremiah Asiamah), Apple Music 1 (Joe Kay) and Soulection Radio. The Steppers Club founder has been in exceptional form in recent months, teaming up with Novelist on his prime-time Reprezent Radio slot whilst also performing sell-out shows at the legendary Printworks (b2b with Riz La Teef) and XOYO. The artist even found time to deliver a full feature interview for UKF on his work behind the scenes running the Steppers Club label.
We premiere Zefer’s collaboration with Tia Talks & Tidah ‘Games.’ The track is a proper collaborative project as the trio merges their individualistic styles, creating a mash of influences drawing from jazz, soul, R&B, house, and Hip-Hop all rolled into a blissful piece of garage that works on both dark dancefloors and car radios. Rolling basslines play off shuffling two-step drum grooves while stabbing chords simmer across orchestral & jazz influences keys for a sun-kissed UKG anthem.
