We supply a double premiere today as Irish techno producers Fran Hartnett & Flaen release on Joe Farr’s User Experience label in aid of the Red Cross in Ukraine.

Joe Farr‘s User Experience label has been one of the strong players in industrial focused UK techno since it’s inception in 2017. With key releases from Joe Farr, Insolate, Ike Dusk Corroid as well as hosting a number of Irish producers such as Fran Hartnett, Flaen, Bunketerror, Dahryl & Tess.

Both Fran Hartnett & Flaen return to label on 12 track compilation in aid of The Red Cross in Ukraine. The Irish pairing release alongside 6SISS, Dawn Razor, Ike Dusk, Jamie Curnock & more.

Fran Hartnett’s contribution to the VA is a quintessential wonky cut from the Dublin native. Fran builds a clambering rhythm around a jolting four bar loop that scales the soundscape with menacing tension. Fran does an excellent job of dismantling the track every few bars before precisely scaling it back up to a nauseating summit.

Flaen’s track is a hammering symphony of distorted synth lines, battered low end and psychedelic style reverse stabs and vocals. Hitting at an abrasive 145 bpm, Flaen flexes his muscle through dynamic rhythmic loops, moving between merciless vocal stab & metallic style lead synths that sound like he’s shattering an electric guitar with his hands and running it back through a chiseled pre-amp. This is intelligent industrial techno, that is both thunderous & terrifying.
