Max HeyraudLong Island Sound return with a new five track EP on Hammer’s imprint, Remmah. The EP is littered with uplifting melodies, melodic mutters & electro muscle.
Long Island Sound have been hard at work in the studio over the lockdown and have proved that through two unreleased mixes last year. The first came earlier this year, as they provided a mix for British Airways of all people. The second came in the infamous Berlin bathroom, for Hör Berlin, flexing a strong wealth of unreleased material.
The duo have also graced Boiler Room for AVA in Dublin, Griessmuehle in Berlin, along with various appearances on Rinse and a guest-mix on the coveted ‘Feel My Bicep’ podcast series.
It’s been over a year since the Dublin duo have released a body of music, so the EP signifies the first glimpse into Long Island Sound’s lockdown creations. It also marks the duo’s first EP away from their label, Signs Of Space in some time.
First Contact is a five-track EP that pulls off the trick of being both epic and intimate. From the title track to closer Wind & Rain, it showcases the duo’s ability to traverse genre and era through their blend of breakbeats, acid lines, subtle sampling and ambient washes. Lead single ‘Memory’ provides the most dancefloor-focused cut of the selection with its driving synths providing an intense release.
The release follow’s on from fellow Dubliner Dart’s last EP on Remmah and the two releases are a shining example of the wealth of talent that is bursting out of Ireland right now.
