Max HeyraudKripik has just announced an 8-track VA compilation of Irish techno artists, including Cailín, Doug Cooney, Aero, Chaz Moloney, and Mejmi, under their new label, Encrypted.
Kriptik, a Cork-based party, has been at the forefront of the city’s thriving techno scene for the past year – they are now focussing on forming a label and event series, Encrypted. Their first VA comes after a live performance with Doiléir and a recently announced show with Mejmi B2B Hooligan. All three are featured on the debut compilation.
The debut offering is an 8-track digital release featuring a variety of Irish artists. The VA represents various shades of the underground Irish techno umbrella, serving up stripped-back modern cuts, gritty references to Birmingham, abstract sound design heavy tools, and much more.
We premiere Havik‘s track ‘Hidden Sector’, a quintessential dark and smouldering cut from the rising Irish artist. Havik explores changing soundscapes and dense layers of rhythm, resulting in a wall of sound. He expertly makes drums and synthesisers talk to each other, resulting in an infectious groove with a genuine sense of movement and tension.
