Berlin-based DJ and producer Cromby returns to his Potency imprint with a four-track EP inspired by the legendary Belfast venue Mandela Hall.
The four-track collection is a heartfelt tribute to Belfast’s iconic venue, Mandela Hall, where Cromby first became involved in the rave scene and secured a residency at the age of 18.
Mandela Hall, which first opened in 1967 as McMordie Hall, has long been an important part of Belfast’s music scene. The venue was renamed in 1986 to honour Nelson Mandela, and it has featured a wide range of musicians, including 808 State, The Orb, and Van Morrison. After closing in July 2018, Mandela Hall underwent a massive rebuild and reopened in 2022 with cutting-edge facilities, reinforcing its position as one of Belfast’s best venues.
Cromby’s Mandela Hall EP captures the excitement and diversity of the club nights that helped shape his early career. The tracks weave house, techno, electro, and UK club sounds, reflecting the diverse inspirations that moulded his musical career. This release comes after his 2024 House Flava EP on Big Saldo’s Chunkers, which demonstrated his ability to create dancefloor-ready tracks with broad appeal.
