Dublin City Council is looking for a temporary Night-Time Economy Advisor. The role requires the advisor to provide strategic guidance, local participation, and a push for a more lively and diverse nightlife economy.

The Night-time Economy is a hugely important sector, contributing to our economy and our cultural and
creative sectors and it is important that we protect, support and sustain it. Dublin is an international capital city and is the economic engine of the region and state. Dublin City Council seeks to enhance the city’s attraction as a place in which to invest, to work, to live and to visit. Dublin City Council takes the lead role in shaping the strategic vision of the city.

Catherine Martin T.D., Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media established the NightTime Economy Taskforce on 30 July 2020 and the Report of this Taskforce was published in September 2021. It is a Cross-Government Report containing 36 actions across a broad range of issues associated with the Night-Time Economy, all with the aim of increasing the diversity of events, increasing cultural opportunities and encouraging innovation and creativity in the Night-Time Economy.

The aim of this initiative is to gain a better understanding of and to stimulate Night –Time Economy activity in areas of the city through the development of enhanced collaborative structures at local level supported by a Night-Time Economy Advisor.
