Aslice, DVS1’s community-focused service aimed to building a fairer music ecosystem through software that allows DJs to directly share earnings with producers, has announced its closure.
Aslice has shown that real transformation in the music industry is feasible. Founded by artists for artists, the platform established a successful revenue-sharing model that worked independently of corporate sponsorship, guaranteeing that music producers were appropriately compensated.
More than just a software solution, Aslice established a global community by establishing relationships between DJs and producers while advocating for the key ideals of respect and mutual assistance. Despite its closure, the platform’s impact on the business and the inspiration it brought to artists will live on.
“To everyone who dedicated their time and energy to the Aslice movement: Keep speaking up. Continue to be loud and make your voices heard. Continue to demand better from the industry. Always advocate for one another, now and in the future.”
