After nearly a decade of hosting club nights, Galway-based Basement Project, the long-running club series, is bidding farewell to its conventional party format. Today, in a social media post, the organisers announced that as the party’s 10th anniversary approaches, they’ve decided to close this chapter and embark on a new journey.

They stated that the last year has allowed them to reflect on their path and future vision. “We have had an incredible experience running these parties for almost a decade,” the organisers said, thanking the Galway community for their enthusiasm and support at each event. They did, however, emphasise a desire to move away from the monthly structure, allowing for the exploration of new event types and concepts that may provide something more diversified.

Basement Project intends to expand into a more adaptable event-based collective, allowing the team to experiment with new formats, genres, and experiences. By moving away from the format of monthly parties, BP’s organisers seek to create a space that offers a new perspective on Galway’s nightlife.

The team is going to unveil the new project tomorrow at 8p.m., and Basement Project will announce the first event in this new series on Saturday, November 16th.
