Last week The Bernard Shaw unveiled its newest addition to their venue as the Racket Space opened its door’s for the first time. The basement will function as a multipurpose creative hub, working as music venue, recording Studio and lifestyle Shop.

The rather rapid decline of Dublin music venues and nightclubs is well documented, and remains a serious matter of contention in relation to the future of Dublin’s creative landscape and nightlife economy. Dublin is screaming out for new spaces for music lovers to congregate, and for an injection of new life into a city that seem’s at a stand-still in terms of dynamic creative spaces.

Last week The Bernard Shaw & Bodytonic unveiled their rejuvenated basement venue, under the new monarch of The Racket Space. The basement will function as a multipurpose creative hub, working as music venue, recording Studio and lifestyle Shop.

The basement will hold 250 people at full capacity for club show’s, 200 people for live show’s, and 150 for seated events. The venue also boast’s a Funktion One soundsystem.

Last week the venue stretched its legs for the first time with an array of show’s including live bands, DJ set’s, art installations and more. The venue has also released some names that will feature in the venue over the coming month, which can be checked out below.
