Body Movements, hosted by Saoirse, Clayton Wright, and Simon Denby returns on August 24th at Southwark Park. The festival will feature a diverse range of queer artists from around the world, including Mura Masa, Haai, Peach, FAFF, I.JORDAN, Roi Perez, Cakes Da Killa (live), Tama Sumo & Lakuti, Midland, Michelle Manetti, GIDEÖN, and others.
Beginning as a DIY radical queer gathering that spanned 15 venues in Hackney Wick. Exhausted by queer electronic music’s limited representation on stage at straight-majority festivals, the London-based team banded together to create a space that truly celebrated queer and trans bodies in club culture. Their network of dedicated queers grew so large that last year they launched their first full-scale festival production in Southwark Park, carving out a new space with bespoke stages featuring high-end sound and lighting to foster queer expression, exploration, and allyship.
Body Movements‘ second South London edition has invited some of their favourite parties, crews, and club nights from around the world. 2025 sees the return of London stalwarts and rave icons ADONIS, Latinx pleasure palace 2CPERREA, and East London’s monthly FLINTA+ fling, Fèmmme Fraîche. Pxssy Palace and many other crews will return to Southwark Park.
Co-founder Clayton Wright shares, “Queer & Trans bodies are under constant scrutiny and attack worldwide. Now more than ever, we need spaces that allow us to be ourselves, celebrate our music and culture, and celebrate each other. This year we invite our allies to rally around us, to share in our collective joy, and we ask them for their continued support towards the Queer & Trans community. Stand with us, support us, and dance with us.”
