Max HeyraudLondon’s queer and sex-positive party series, Joyride, is making its Dublin debut this November, after becoming a key player in the city’s underground club scene with sold-out events at Corsica Studios. The Dublin launch commences on November 21 with a Joyride Social at Racket Space, followed by a bigger party at The Grand Social on December 21.
Founded in London in January 2023, Joyride merges sexual expression, queer celebration, and rave culture. Joyride’s Community Guidelines aim to create a welcoming atmosphere for ravers, protect the space, and promote self-expression. The Goodnight Out Campaign collaborated to develop these policies, and a house welfare team ensures their implementation.
The team primarily promotes queer artists, and their ties to Ireland run deep. The team has booked and showcased Ireland’s top DJs, including Joyride resident Eoin DJ, R. Kitt, Mercorn, Breen, Dark Mavis, Iarlaith, Nellída, Viva Dean, DJ-CK, and Toraigh.
The Dublin launch kicks off on November 21 with a Joyride Social at Racket Space, followed by a larger rave at The Grand Social on December 21. The social event will feature a fireside chat with co-founders MJ Fox (she/her) and Lydia Fikan (they/them), stalls from local queer vendors, and music from Irish artists like Rhyzine. The December rave will showcase a lineup including Caít b2b Síofra, Mercorn, and Dark Mavis.

We’ve witnessed huge shifts in Irish attitudes towards sex and sexuality in the last few years—most clearly with marriage equality and the repealing of the 8th Amendment. There’s now an openness to different sexualities and facets of sexual exploration that would have felt very foreign even half a decade ago.”
