Matt, one-half of BICEP, has provided an update on his health, confirming the presence of a non-cancerous tumour in his brain. Matt has since undergone surgery and will be away from shows until further notice. The entire Four Four Magazine team wishes Matt a speedy recovery.

Matt of BICEP began experiencing unexpected health problems in late 2023. Localised headaches and unusual fatigue prompted a series of blood tests in the spring of 2024, revealing that something was wrong. In response, his doctor promptly scheduled an MRI, followed by a CT scan.

The artist was diagnosed with a large Craniopharyngioma tumour on his pituitary gland, which is a rare and formidable growth nestled in his brain. The tumour, despite its size, was most likely benign and was discovered just in time to avoid serious complications, such as vision loss due to its proximity to the optic nerve.

Bicep member, Andy, will play forthcoming gigs alone until further notice as Matt recovers. Fans and colleagues have gathered around him during this time, and he offers sincere thanks to his family, friends, and coworkers for their unwavering support behind the scenes.

“The support I’ve received has been incredible, I can’t say this enough. Appointments were arranged with sometimes only hours’ notice and communication incredibly fast and direct.” [Via BICEP’s Instagram]
