The Oram Awards celebrates innovation in sound, music and related technologies and elevates the work and voices of women and gender-diverse artists. The Oram Awards have announced the eight winners for 2023 including rEmPiT g0dDe$$, afromerm, Geo Aghinea & more.
The Oram Awards which are named after pioneering British composer and BBC Radiophonic Workshop founding member Daphne Oram, have been set up with the aim to recognise the next generation of forward-thinking women, trans, non-binary, and gender-expanding musicians in the UK and around the world. The winners receive a grant and take part in a mentorship program.
This year’s winners are a compilation of artists, composers, DJs and instrument designers based in Palestine, Malaysia, Scotland, Wales and England are amongst those being honoured this year.
The 2023 winners are: Maya Al Khaldi [International Category], VIKTORIA and rEmPiT g0dDe$$ [International Category], Natalie Roe, Cecilia Cil Morgan, Helen Anahita Wilson, Hannan Jones, Charlotte Valentine & Geo Aghinea.
