YAWUW and Soma Coffee are hosting Cork’s first-ever Run & Rave on Sunday, with participants running a 5k followed by a coffee and a two-hour sober rave.

YAWUW, a sustainable athleisure wear brand, has partnered with Soma Coffee Company to bring the first-ever Run & Rave to Cork City at the boutique indoor and outdoor market, The Black Market this Sunday.

The event starts at 9 am with Alpha Gym leading the 5km run before finishing at The Black Market where attendees can get coffee & protein balls courtesy of Soma Coffee followed by a two-hour dance with music supplied by Tara Casey.

Sober raves, as well as the intertwining of fitness and club culture, are on the rise in 2024, with Dublin’s Daniel O’Farrell coining the Rave Rothar a few months ago when his Pastry Pace running club incorporated a bike outfitted with decks and speakers provided by Quest Adventure Series. Dom Whiting‘s ‘Drum & Bass On The Bike’ has also played a significant role in combining health and dance music.

Cork’s Run & Rave starts at the Black Market at 9 am, run or walk 5K up to the Pier Head and back.
