All Berlin residents between the ages of 18 and 23 will have access to a “cultural credit” worth 50 euros as of February 1. These young adults will be given the opportunity to use the credit to purchase admission to over 200 cultural attractions in Berlin, including nightclubs.

Regardless of personal financial limitations, the Jugendkulturkarte invites young individuals to (re)discover Berlin’s diverse cultural scene and experience it live and in person.

The culture card campaign will run from 1 February to 30 April 2023, and young adults between the ages of 18 and 23 who are officially listed as residing in Berlin are asked to register online at a website made just for the card. After registering online, they must pick up their Jugendkulturkarte in person by February 28 at one of Berlin’s about 40 public libraries. Cardholders will then have until April 30, 2023, to use their 50-euro culture credit at the ticket counters and advance-ticket counters of the many Berlin cultural institutions that are participating in the promotion.

We are implementing the Jugendkulturkarte campaign on the initiative of Berlin’s Senate Department for Culture and Europe and in cooperation with numerous cultural establishments in the city. Like many young people today, several of these cultural venues are suffering under the weight of the multiple crises and challenges we are facing at this moment in time. The aim of the Jugendkulturkarte is to foster access to culture among young adults, while simultaneously providing a boost to the cultural sector.
