Before you launch yourselves into the weekend, we’ve one more gig to bring your attention to! The newly launched Wind Up event series host grime act and all round sound man D Double E in the Racket Space tonight.
The recently launched Wind Up collective bring their second party to life tonight off the back of a fun fuelled first party with bass legend Novelist. The second edition tonight promises to match the energy packing in D Double E, alongside support from Bobofunk and Lesko with EMBY, Rory Sweeny and Little O.
Your favourite MC’s favourite MC, a don since 19, and quite simply the best to ever pick up the microphone, D Double E’s influence on UK music and culture cannot be overstated, a true pioneer who has been lighting up anything he touched from the mid 90s up to the present day: sets, raves, tunes etc, and we’re even getting albums now. If you’ve never seen this man perform live then 1. Slap yourself and 2. Fix that ASAP!
On support is EMBY. A flurry of festival performances have seen EMBY take to the stage for BBC Introducing at Reading & Leeds, AVA Festival and All Together Now whilst performing at shows with the likes of Kessler, DRS, Benton, Baliboc, Rory Sweeney to name a few. Moulding the worlds of R&B, neo-soul, grime and hip-hop, EMBY’s voice is a distinct one within a sea of the same.
Expect wall to wall bass for this one. Get in early and support your local DJs.
