Talking Heads have released an official music video for their iconic track Psycho Killer, nearly five decades after the band’s live debut.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mike Mills, the video stars Irish actor Saoirse Ronan. The release marks the 50th anniversary of Talking Heads’ first-ever live performance in 1975, paying tribute to their legacy while introducing Psycho Killer to a new visual dimension for the first time.

After nearly 50 years, “Psycho Killer” finally gets a real music video, starring Saoirse Ronan in a dark reimagining of the Talking Heads classic.

The video is a haunting, cinematic depiction of the song’s unsettling ideas, with Ronan providing a riveting performance that captures the tension and appeal of the piece. Shot in stark, stylised imagery, the video combines noir aesthetics with psychological depth, providing fans old and young with a unique perspective on one of the band’s most lasting classics.
