The Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar has just issued a statement with news and updates surrounding the Covid-19 virus.

This morning, Thursday 12th March, Leo Varadkar has announced that all schools, colleges and childcare facilities will be closed from tomorrow onwards to try contain the Covid-19 virus which has taken a hold in Ireland over the last two weeks, with it’s first official death this week.

During his statement he also advised that all indoor gatherings of over 100 people, and outdoor gatherings of over 500 people should be cancelled or postponed. This has been advised for the next two weeks, however could be extended or potentially enforced.

This latest news will see promoters being forced to cancel events and could have knock on events for independent collectives.

Public transport and facilities could also see restrictions however the extent on these has not been mentioned.
