Max HeyraudDublin club Tengu has announced its ninth artist residency, welcoming one of Ireland’s most exciting UK Garage exports, Prozak, for a three-date series this autumn.
Running across September 25, October 30 and November 27, the residency will see the Dublin-born DJ and producer curate three club shows, showcasing the sounds and artists that have influenced his musical journey.
Having become a regular fixture at Tengu while steadily building an international reputation, Prozak has emerged as one of the leading figures in the new wave of UK Garage. His catalogue spans releases on respected labels including Kiwi Rekords, Locked On, ec2a, INSTINCT, Time Is Now and ATW, while his own imprint, BLUEPRESS, continues to gain momentum.
Each event in the residency takes a different approach. The opening night on September 25 brings together a strong local lineup, with Lorcan Kelly b2b DIEBYVEG and Benson joining Prozak for an evening that moves between UK Garage, progressive house and deep bass-driven sounds.
The second instalment, on October 30, expands the scope internationally, with Papa Nugs and A For Alpha making their Tengu appearances alongside Prozak for what promises to be one of the standout nights of the series.
Closing the residency on November 27, Prozak takes full control with a special All Night Long set. Expect an in-depth journey through the many shades of UK Garage, from deep and headsy 2-step to rolling, weighty club cuts, as he brings the three-month residency to its conclusion.
