The Lockdown Series is our latest series in which we invite some friends of ours to choose 10 tracks they feel are essential listening to get you through this lockdown and isolation period.

We’ll be bringing you the picks of some local and international names which will be sure to make your quarantine a little bit easier. These songs selected by the artists will be both a representation of what they play and what they’ll be listening to in their downtime during lockdown, a deeper dive into the minds and tastes of the DJs you love.

For the ninth edition, we welcome our very own Sam Greenwood to share his top picks. Sam Greenwood is definitley a name, and face most people who are involved or interested in club culture in Ireland will know. Since moving here in 2009, Sam has had a absolutely monumental impact on the landscape of Irish club culture.

From his initial involvement playing in clubs, to then going on to found the iconic club night Techno & Cans, which took on a Friday night residency in the also iconic club Hangar, which was sadly demolished in 2018 to build a hotel.
Sam, alongside some friends were behind founding the now legendary nightclub, which in its final years played a massive role in building the names, and careers of some of Irelands finest including KETTAMA and Tommy Holohan to name but a few. Sam is also behind The Building Society Agency which follows suit and focusses on building the careers of rising Irish talent and of course founding Four Four Magazine.
These achievements have most definitely helped massively in bringing Ireland, and Irish artists to the forefront of electronic music much further afield.

Sam himself has always been a techno fanatic and has graced some of Irelands biggest and best clubs and festivals, as well as further afield including his hometown of Bangor in Wales and of course, Cambridge where he started running events.

His love for fast and loopy techno tunes has brought all of the above to life, and has now allowed us to share his 10 favourite isolation tunes, which take a more varied approach including DnB, Old School and more down tempo tunes.

These are definitely worth a play, nice and loud!
