Late last week, news surfaced via Instagram that a new club space is set to open on Lemon Street, just off Grafton Street.
Theatre will launch as Dublin’s newest multi-purpose nightlife venue, with leading vocal house brand Sexy Dancing announcing a weekly Saturday residency starting this weekend.
The venue is an offshoot of the popular bar and restaurant The Hyde, which will transform nightly from 10:30 pm into a dedicated club space. The redevelopment includes a newly installed sound system, upgraded lighting, a backstage standing balcony, a second room on the rooftop terrace, and expanded VIP offerings.
The opening weekend will be hosted by Sexy Dancing as they kick off their residency at Theatre. On the first night, the main room will feature residents Jamie Ennis, Tom O’Gaffney, and DJ Simmo, joined by Nathan Newman. On the terrace, Fogo Trax and Gary Mac will take control of the rooftop.
The following night will see Tom O’Gaffney, Jamie Ennis, and Jordan Boyle continue as main-room residents, alongside monthly resident Ryan Ennis. The terrace will feature appearances from TMOE and Aaron Kelly.
With its central location and flexible layout, Theatre adds a new late-night option to Dublin’s city centre. In a period when the city is losing more clubs than it is gaining, this opening is a significant win for Dublin’s club culture.
