Cellar is bowing out in style with a closing weekend that celebrates the essence of what made it a cornerstone of Dublin’s club scene.
Friday sees the return of Slither, while Saturday wraps things up with Influence, as the venue prepares for one final dance, leaving a significant void in the city’s nightlife.
Located in Temple Bar, Cellar opened its doors in 2021. With a 300-person capacity, the basement venue quickly established itself as an intimate, vital space in the heart of Dublin, playing a crucial role in spotlighting Irish artists. Early on, the club set a clear direction: Friday nights were curated by EVE, focusing on house music, while Sam Greenwood helmed techno Saturdays, with a firm policy of booking only local talent across both nights. That ethos helped define The Cellar’s identity.
Though the booking policy eventually evolved to include occasional international guests, the club’s core mission never wavered—supporting and elevating homegrown artists. As the venue closes its doors, its legacy remains deeply rooted in that commitment.

This Friday, Slither, a crew responsible for some of the most memorable nights in the basement, returns for the final Friday party. Expect their signature high-octane energy, with a lineup that includes Sam Greenwood (Cellar’s booker), Aero (who played the venue’s first-ever Saturday), and Slither resident Matt Smyth, a rising talent. The night is a full-circle celebration of the club’s dedication to emerging Irish artists.
Saturday’s finale sees Influence take the reins, inviting Australian hardcore heavyweight Rizzo for his Irish debut. He’ll be joined by Cellar regulars and Influence mainstays Victor Krum, NAT TYPE, and JKRN, alongside fresh faces JRR and ADM. Influence has played a key role in Cellar’s evolution, especially in recent years, bringing new energy and helping the party series grow steadily within the space.
As Cellar prepares for its final weekend, it leaves behind not just a venue, but a legacy, a platform that reshaped Dublin’s underground by putting local talent front and centre.
Sam Greenwood shared some final thoughts ahead of the closing weekend. “At a time when big internationals were taking over the major clubs, Cellar acted as the go-to venue that allowed promoters to dip their toes into the world of promotion. DJs have played their first-ever sets in this place and gone on to be regulars in the Irish dance scene and beyond. Much like Hangar, we wanted to create a space for the local scene to thrive, to take ownership. Affordable nights out, local DJs and a great party.”
“A square room, a good sound system and minimal lighting. It’s that simple.”
