Yoga Le Naoise is shaking up Ireland’s wellness and dance communities by fusing techno’s hypnotic structures with a transformative yoga experience.

Yoga Le Naoise isn’t your typical yoga teacher. With a 500-hour certification under her belt and a background in Sports Science and Health, she’s specialised in creating safe, heart-led spaces where people can push their edges through asana flow. But here’s the twist: Naoise’s yoga practice is deeply intertwined with her love for electronic music, especially techno, which she’s been blending into what she calls “Techno Yoga.” It uses the foundations of both cultures and disciplines to create a powerful middle ground where both can co-exist in sweet harmony.

Naoise is showing how the two can not only coexist but amplify creativity, presence, and connection. She sees yoga as a journey inward, not about chasing the “perfect pose,” but about rediscovering your authentic self, and the right soundtrack helps unlock that. Starting during the solitude of lockdown, Naoise’s vision grew from quiet home practices to full-blown festival stages like Wellfest and Electric Picnic, creating a community where everyone, regardless of experience, can feel free, energised, and united.

So obviously, we’re predominantly a dance music and club culture platform, so I wanted to start by asking: what’s on regular rotation for you, listening-wise, dance music or otherwise?

I love and appreciate a wide range of music genres – from electronic, dance, psychedelic, techno, deep house, to contemporary Irish folk, new-age Celtic fusion, as well as music that fuses some of these elements together.

I know Goldie, for example, is an electronic music artist who swears by yoga for helping him tap into his creative side. I was wondering if you could weigh in on yoga’s impact on creativity?

This resonates with me a lot, as I also use yoga as a tool to tap into my creativity. When I’m overstimulated, distracted, or constantly busy, I find there’s no space in my body or mind for creative energy to move. My yoga practice helps me slow down, quiet my thoughts, and reconnect with my own inner rhythm. This creates the mental and energetic space where creativity can naturally flow, and it’s often when my best ideas take shape. Sometimes, this yoga practice looks as simple as creating a quiet, clean environment, lighting incense and playing relaxing music, before practising grounding breathwork techniques, moving through some yoga asanas, or meditating. For me, this can also be especially powerful when done in nature!

Electronic music, and techno specifically, often draws comparisons to yoga due to its hypnotic structures. When did you first start to piece this connection together and decide to launch your “Techno Yoga” project?

I first began to notice this connection during the early lockdowns in 2020, while I was completing my 200-hour yoga teacher training online. Each day, I would spend hours practising yoga alone, often accompanied by some of my favourite electronic tracks. The combination of movement and this specific music gave me a profound sense of presence and connection to both my body and the practice. It was during these moments that I envisioned one day sharing this experience with others: guiding a room full of people through a rhythmic, powerful flow set to the steady, hypnotic pulse of electronic beats that would build to the peak part of the yoga flow, where I would play techno. I also ideally love to create a similar vibe to some of the techno events I used to attend, by choosing the right venue and using light effects/visuals, working with a live DJ, etc.

Techno is generally associated with club spaces. How have people responded to it outside of that environment? There’s a growing movement exploring techno beyond the club, but I’m curious how it’s been received in this format.

Overall, people have always been genuinely curious and open. I’ve never received any negative feedback. The community that shows up to my events tends to be open-minded and eager to explore something new or different. The response has been overwhelmingly positive; people leave feeling energised and often ask when the next event will be. I’m sure it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s completely okay. If anyone hasn’t resonated with it, they’ve kept it to themselves, and I respect that.

Yoga heals not just the body, but the mind and soul. Similarly, a powerful club experience can do the same, breaking down political and social barriers. Have you ever experienced that kind of transformation on the dancefloor?

Yes, absolutely. Club experiences and festivals played a huge role in my personal growth during my early twenties. They were spaces where I truly learned how to let go. I vividly remember the feeling of complete presence and pure joy on the dance floor, where everyone shared a mutual understanding and a collective desire to simply be in the moment, fully immersed in the music, regardless of who they were or where they came from. This creates a strong sense of unity and openness on the dancefloor, which are qualities that beautifully mirror the essence of yoga.

That’s why, whenever I host my techno yoga events, I warmly invite everyone to join, regardless of age, ability, or gender. My aim is to create an inclusive and welcoming space where all feels safe, comfortable, and free to fully embrace the experience and its benefits.

You’ve brought Techno Yoga to various festivals. Can you tell us a bit about how you first got onto the festival circuit with the concept?

Festivals have always been a huge part of my life. After hosting my very first techno yoga event, I felt that it could be a truly unique and special experience to bring to an Irish festival. So, that vision was there from the very beginning.

A month after my first ever event, I reconnected with a former yoga student, Darragh, who was launching a new kombucha business in Dublin, Vigo Kombucha. He reached out to meet to see if I would be interested in helping with marketing/sales. I was curious and always open to new ideas, so I showed up with an open mind to see if I could play a role in his kombucha venture (plus, I’ve always loved kombucha).

During that first meeting, Darragh shared his dream of bringing Vigo to a festival. I told him about my new event, Techno Yoga, and my desire to take it to festivals too. It was a beautiful moment of synchronicity and the start of a wonderful collaborative partnership.

Darragh then went on to introduce me to his good friend Jeff, who runs the fitness clothing brand NDA. Jeff helped me get booked for Wellfest 2023 (Europe’s largest outdoor health and wellness festival) where I shared Techno Yoga on their stage that May. I was unbelievably nervous, but the reception was amazing, and from there, I kept going.

I consistently hosted my events throughout the year, and I believe festivals and brands started to take notice. Social media also became a powerful tool for showcasing my work. Since then, I returned to Wellfest in 2024 and even headlined their main stage in 2025. I’ve collaborated with other brands and brought Techno Yoga to Electric Picnic, where I’ll be back again in August 2025.

It’s been an incredible journey full of learning, fun, challenges, and amazing connections. Building the community around Techno Yoga has brought me immense confidence and joy throughout the process.

I know that shortly after launching the concept, you had to undergo laparoscopic surgery. Can you share how that time away from yoga shifted your vision, if at all?

It didn’t shake my vision because I was committed to taking my recovery seriously, and I knew Techno Yoga was just getting started. However, during that period when I had no income and couldn’t teach yoga, I decided to launch an online shop selling self-care Christmas boxes designed to help women balance their hormones.

That’s actually how Darragh initially came into the picture, as he noticed my new retail venture and reached out to explore the possibility of including his kombucha with the gift boxes and growing some brand exposure through my community. What might have seemed like a setback or distraction from my Techno Yoga journey due to laparoscopy ended up opening a new door that supported the next chapter of my journey.

I’ve heard that Darragh O’Malley and VIGO Kombucha have been instrumental to the project’s longevity and success. Could you talk a bit about their impact?

Meeting Darragh turned out to be such a blessing. He’s been incredibly supportive of my events over the years, always believing in my vision and offering help in any way he could. He provides Vigo Kombucha for every event, which has become a beautiful part of the overall experience. I love serving it at the end of each session because it adds to the feeling of being ‘out’, like you’ve just left an amazing gig. The kombucha tastes great, and with its glass-bottled presentation, it aligns perfectly with the vibrant, health-conscious event.

I’ll never forget those early days when no one really knew what Techno Yoga was. I’d be running events and feeling anxious about not selling enough tickets to cover costs, and Darragh would buy 5-10 tickets just to make sure I could keep going. I’ll always be very grateful for that. It lifted a huge weight off my shoulders and helped me trust the process.

Today, my events regularly sell out with 80 to 100 attendees, and l love gifting Darragh and his wife tickets as a small thank-you for their unwavering support from the beginning. Darragh is also the person I call whenever something big or exciting happens, whether I’ve been invited to bring Techno Yoga to a festival or reached a new milestone in my career. He’s become a truly good friend.

What plans do you have for the project going forward?

Ever since my last event at Windmill Lane in June, some really exciting opportunities have come my way. I’ve been booked to facilitate Techno Yoga sessions for a few upcoming hen parties, which I think will be such a fun and empowering way for groups of women to connect and celebrate. I’ll also be offering Techno Yoga at Fundrum (Dundrum’s annual wellness event), as well as at the LinktNs wellness event this July. And I’m thrilled to be bringing Techno Yoga back to Electric Picnic this August!

That last big event at Windmill Lane was extra special as it was sponsored by the Irish skincare brand Kinvara, and every one of the 80 attendees received a gift bag with €100

worth of skincare (as well as Vigo Refreshments). Collaborations like this really excite me because they elevate the experience for my community.

I’ve also started working with an amazing DJ, Joseph, who’s become a great friend and creative collaborator. He really gets the vision behind Techno Yoga, and I see us doing much more together in the future. His music adds so much to the atmosphere, and it’s been beautiful to co-create with someone so aligned.

After the summer, I’m hoping to bring more consistency to the events. Times are definitely shifting. At our last Friday night session, instead of heading to the pub after the workweek, people chose to come to Techno Yoga. The energy was incredible. So I’m hoping to create a regular series of Friday night events that give people a fun, conscious alternative to typical weekend plans.

And that’s kind of where I’m at right now, I don’t have everything mapped out, and I’m okay with that. I’m staying open to whatever comes my way and simply continuing to share something I love with the world, trusting that it will keep growing in the right direction.

And finally, if you could describe the whole journey in just one sentence, how would you put it?

This journey has shown me that when you create something from a place of deep, authentic joy and share it with the world, even if it feels scary, life can respond with the most unexpected, beautiful opportunities and connections that lead to unforgettable experiences and life-long friendships.
